Our Campus Experience
We can’t wait to welcome you to our beautiful gothic-style campus. Whether you prefer to study under the shade of trees or make a space for yourself in the Thomas J. Meskill Law Library, UConn Law has something for everyone.
Besides our beautiful surroundings, our campus is known for being a friendly and vibrant community where opportunities abound for students to get involved. LLM students benefit from a variety of services, from a dedicated International Student Advisor, an LLM Career Counselor, student affairs professionals, and the support of our Graduate and International Programs team.
Life in Hartford
UConn Law’s beautiful campus is located in the historic West End of Hartford, the “Insurance Capital of the United States,” conveniently located only two hours from New York or Boston. Students enjoy the perks of being in a New England city without the high cost of living of a New York, Boston or Washington, D.C., making Hartford an ideal student environment.
Hartford is a diverse city where you will find cultural opportunities, a budding food culture, international markets, and parks all within walking distance to the law school. Outside of class, students can be found sledding at Elizabeth Park, taking a day trip to view the New England fall foliage and pick apples, attending the theater or a live music show or simply enjoying a meal at Parkville Market, a new food hall featuring over 15 local restaurants.

International Student & Scholar Services
UConn School of Law's International Student Advisor advises students and scholars on immigration and cultural transition matters, processes immigration applications and serves as a resource for UConn faculty and staff at the Law School. As soon as you are accepted to our LLM program, our International Student Advisor will begin to guide you through the visa application process. While you are on campus, your advisor will be available to answer questions about maintaining your visa status, pursuing internship, work, or clinical placement opportunities, or cultural adjustment issues.
In addition, the International Student & Scholar Services (ISSS) office at UConn's Storrs campus hosts many events and informational sessions throughout the year, which you are welcome to join.
UConn Law has over 40 student organizations which reflect the diverse interests of our students. Organizations focus on areas including law specializations, diversity, mental health, sports, and identity-based groups. Organizations include the Human Rights Law Association, Energy and Environmental Law Society, the Arts, Entertainment, and Sports Law Society, and many more.
Many international students join the Connecticut Alliance of International Lawyers (CAIL). CAIL was created to show the international diversity of UConn Law and is a space for international lawyers to gather in community. CAIL is an active student group, hosting trivia nights, internationally themed events and planning International Education Week each year.
